The Department of Periodontology and Oral Implantology of SMBT IDSR organized a 3-day workshop titled “Digital Implantology” from 3rd to 5th July 2025. The session was conducted by the esteemed Dr.Vipin Mahurkar a renowned Oral Implantologist, known for his exceptional expertise and 28+ years of dedicated practice. The workshop commenced with a formal welcome address,following which guest speaker Dr.Vipin Mahurkar was felicitated with a sapling as a token of respect by Dr.Mahesh Ahire(Head of Department). Dr.Vipin Mahurkar delivered an in-depth lecture on integrated and advanced technologies for precise and predictable implant procedures along with information about digital impression techniques,surgical guide protocols and prosthetically driven planning.The final session featured demonstration and hands on training focused on use of One Guide Kit. Department of Periodontology arranged a brain storming case discussion session with Dr.Vipin Mahurkar on variety of planned major cases along with PGs and Faculty members following a visit to department UG, Minor and PG section. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging Dr.Vipin Mahurkar Sir’s valuable contribution and active participation of post-graduate students and faculty. A momento was presented to the speaker as a token of appreciation.PROGRAMME OUTCOME:The workshop provided post-graduate students and faculty with practical insights and confidence in planning and placement of implant procedure effectively. It was an enriching experience that underscored the importance of precision and preparedness in dental practice.
